(lat. “in its original place”) – a collection of earth-based objects for contemporary interiors. The project proposes an approach to interior environments in which not only surface aesthetics or function are important, but also the origin of the material, its site, and its previous lifecycle. Materials in contemporary interior practice are often reduced to finishing layers, detached from their origin and structure. The project is an attempt to return local earth mass to interior practice – not as nostalgia or historical reference, but as an alternative material approach. The initial material was reclaimed from the clay-rich earthen walls of a deteriorating barn and transformed into objects.
